I booked my daughter and myself a service for the same time. An hour before the appointment I received a call that my lady was 15 minutes behind schedule. My daughter was called back and after waiting 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment I told the receptionist I would need to cancel. 42 minutes after my scheduled time the lady called me back. It was very disappointing. I would not recommend.

Yolanda is one of the very best exclamation. She pays close attention to details and remembers the things that I like from one visit to the next. This was the first time I had a hot stone with her and it was one of the most relaxing massages I have ever felt. She really helped some sore muscles in my neck and back feels so much better.

Brandie was listening to a podcast during our massage and I could hear it through her airpods. She was 15 minutes late to get me out of the waiting room and said she would make my time up to ensure that I received the full hour, but I was dressed and leaving my massage after 45 minutes. She also seemed to be sick, which is completely understandable, but she was coughing and sniffing the whole time. She had no music going, so I asked if she could play some music, and it was upbeat Jack Johnson music, which I told her was fine (because it was better than hearing her podcast). She didn't cover my entire body even though I asked her to multiple times. The massage itself was very harsh and boney. My body feels sore the next day and not relaxed. The front desk attendant was very friendly and kind!

My experience was awful with the services I received and there’s also a class action lawsuit against this company for multiple sexual assaults during services.

*Update* My wife and I visited on 5/27 after the original message below. The service was much better this time, and the GM Savanna worked with us to ensure that things were made right, and that our experience was satisfactory this time around! I appreciate her commitment and the commitment of the store to ensure the satisfaction of their customers! Thanks again, and I am sure we will be back in the future. My wife and I made an appointment here for a couples massage almost a month and a half out. On the day of our appointment, Saturday May 6th, we arrived about 10 minutes prior to the massage. Upon arrival, we were told that only one of our massages would be able to be completed, as a masseuse had called in that morning sick. We did not receive any communication of this until we made the drive in. We live about 20 minutes away, and were both incredibly frustrated and disappointed in this transaction. The receptionist apologized, but could she have not made a simple call to inform us of this prior to arrival? Very poor communication, and bad business overall. After this conversation, she advised that there were no other appointments available for over a month, and we could try calling the Franklin location. She said she would put a note in our account for a discount, but that ultimately did not seem like a viable solution in our opinion. However, we called the location anyway, and they also did not have any thing available for almost a month for two female massage therapist as requested. We took the earliest available appointment, but were just incredibly frustrated about the entire experience. To top things off, when we contacted the Franklin location, they also advised us that there was no note placed into our account that indicated a discount should be given. We do plan on speaking with a manager to make this right at our next appointment. The primary reason we booked this appointment originally was because my wife had a gift card. I can assure you that we do not plan on coming back once this gift card has been spent.

Last week our party of four women pampered themselves to hot stone massages at Hand & Stone-Brentwood, TN. We were paired with estheticians, James and Lakreshia who we extend a heartfelt thanks for the thorough, personalized, and relaxing massages they provided each of us. It was the perfect start to our ladies day out. Kudos too to Caili for making the arrangements on short notice and for directions on how to locate them. It's a great way to spoil yourself and would visit again when in TN.

Unfortunately I have to update my review below to reflect the poor management of the Brentwood location. The manager is very young and doesn’t have a full grasp of managing her people or us clients. She needs to realize that since she’s young she doesn’t know all the answers and in my opinion needs training on how not to talk to her employees in front of cliental. Meaning you don’t because it makes us not feel real good to hear reprimand and employee in front of me. I felt that it was very unprofessional and demeaning to her employee. You join becoming a member for $69.99 per month which includes a one hour massage each month. The massage therapist I had was exceptional! I came in with severe neck pain that I had solid for six weeks and through her healing hands I’m pain-free!! Everything I have tried, with doctors & homeopathic had not worked to relieve the pain.

My boyfriend and I went last week to get a massage. Our massage therapist was very unprofessional, said some inappropriate comments to my boyfriend, and should be removed. We called corporate and told them everything, it’s been a week and they still haven’t called us back. They seem to not take this seriously.

Was a customer there for over a year, paid on time, had a great experience each time getting facials and massages. I am not sure what happened, but there must be a new manager. I called to cancel an appointment over 48 hours in advance and was still charged a no show fee. When I called the store to dispute this charge, I was told "the manager would call me back tomorrow". Which she never did. When I walked into the store to personally speak to someone, the manager blew me off even though she was sitting right in her office and said she was in a meeting. Once again I was told she would "call me tomorrow". She didn't call me. When I called back a few days later to explain this and effectively cancel my membership, I was told by the front desk they have no way to cancel memberships or make refunds. That the "manager would call me tomorrow". When I became frustrated with this and expressed that, the front desk employee hung up on me. When I called back, I was told the manager would "call me back tomorrow". I'm not holding my breath. It seems like whoever runs this establishment has no problem charging people's cards with no follow up or concern whatsoever.

**0 stars if I could** Out of the 8+ Hand and Stones I have been to with my membership this has to be the hands down worst experience I have ever had, especially as a first time visit. I would recommend making the additional 10 minute trip down the street to Franklin or at this point, cancelling your membership and getting one somewhere else, as the barometer of service has plummeted.

Murfreesboro location (continue reading for Brentwood location)-My husband and I already had an issue with whether or not he purchased a membership or a gift card. That issue is still not addressed. My MEMBERSHIP was purchased on 12/21 as a GIFT for Christmas. On 12/22 is get another email welcoming as a MEMBER and what MY MEMBERSHIP comes with....Not GIFT CARD. He addressed this and the membership was CANCELLED by office staff and NOT my husband. And they entered in the system as such.... and then entered in as a gift card in HIS name. My husband schedules me anyway at the Brentwood location, and says he will square things away at the visit he scheduled for me. Even though he purchased a membership, I received an email stating my MEMBERSHIP was cancelled via an email on 1/6/23. So I am not understanding how Hand and Stone state I didn't have a membership. Yet I received a membership welcome email and "sorry to see you go" email and how my membership was cancelled. I called the Murfreesboro location and was told MY membership was cancelled and a gift card placed in his name. That I would have to use his name to schedule anything.... husband schedules me at Brentwood location. Brentwood location- lady at desk didn't seem to fully understand what was going on and what had transpired. She keeps telling him he bought a gift card and he keeps telling her what is was supposed to be. Even though I explained the above to her. She stated she would let a manager know and have someone call MY HUSBAND. No one has called my husband as stated. I only received all call for filling out the to reviews ( one for "sorry to see you go" and the other regarding my visit on 1/7/23). I missed the call and called back. I left a voicemail for you to call my husband because this transaction is and has come out of his account, and I am not receiving what he paid for, nor is my gift in my name, you have changed it and put it in his name. This review does not pertain to the massage therapist. Update- it has been 6 days since told someone was going to call to fix this issue, is no call

I've had several facials here over the years and they've all been wonderful! The only complaint I have is the spiel you get every.single.time to join their monthly club or to buy products. Instead of the long-winded sell, simply ask the client if they're interested in hearing about it. Chances are, we've all heard it while waiting to be called back.

I wouldn’t want to do business With a company that blatantly lies. I spoke to their regional manager, Tracy, and she refused to honor the agreement I had with the Murfreesboro manager. A HUGE SCAM FOR MONTHLY CUSTOMERS. They will take your services away you paid for without any notice if you cancel and refuse to pay for another month you don’t even want (you’re required to pay the month). I would stay as far away from them as possible and find a local spa with good pricing and customer engagement. They clearly care more about their making money than building relationships with their customers of over three years. They’ve never reached out to me to see if I would like to continue their services or notified me of these extra charges at cancellation. I’ll be calling the Better Business Bureau for sure.

There always seem to be issues with scheduling at this place so i decided I'll just be a walk-in client since i was told they take walk-ins. That was a mistake too! Why is this place NEVER open when they are supposed to be!!!??? I get off work at 630, but every time i come by they are already closed by 7or 8! But their hours say they are open til 9pm!???? Lies!!!!

I came here to write this review because I had a facial last week and the girl who did it, Kylie, was very knowledgeable and gave me advice which has proved very helpful! I’ve been doing what she said and my skin looks better than it has in years, with somehow less acne and less wrinkles. So I definitely recommend her as an esthetician! I took off one star because I had booked a massage on the same day, and received a confirmation email and everything, but when I arrived I was told there was no appointment and no one available. I rescheduled for the next week, and was told it would still be at the introductory rate since it was my first massage with them. But then when it was time to pay for the massage, after the service, I was charged full price and told the only way to get that price was buying a membership. Overall I still had a good experience and my services were very nice and relaxing, but be prepared to be given a sales pitch, and possibly avoid online booking.

I have had a membership here for way to long and it has been money tossed out the window. Beyond booking issues and never having a masseuse available. Or getting one booked and then have a massage get canceled, with no recourse or upgrade for the inconvenience. They constantly sell upgrades, that I didn't ask for and then have a balance and the end of the session. I urge you wholeheartedly to stay away from this place and never give them your money in any way shape or form

Trying to use up credits from my canceled membership before they expire, and I have had multiple appointments canceled day of because therapists weren’t available or needed to leave early. I’ve also had messages where ‘the online booking was incorrect and that time shouldn’t have been available’ for an appointment. Really wish I could just receive a refund for the credits I have instead of trying to use them. It would be so much simpler.

stay away from this place!!!! If I could give a zero I TOTALLY would. we scheduled appointments here for a bachelorette trip for me and two other girls. while scheduling these appointments we let them know MULTIPLE times that it was for a bachelorette. one of the bridesmaids scheduled a facial and she received a message it was cancelled due to them not having someone to perform that service but we can still receive massages. that should of been the first red flag but due to covid and short staffing we understood and still went with just the massages. when we went in for these massages they had us fill out paperwork and said “we will get you back in just a few” so we were sitting in the waiting area as I was explaining to one of the girls that my legs were hurting and how I could not wait for this massage after last night. the office manager then comes out and asks us when the last time we stopped drinking the night prior, we then explained it was about midnight/ one o’clock when we stopped drinking (mind you these appointments were scheduled for 11 am) she said that you cannot drink the night prior to the appointment as alcohol makes your body feels numb so if they applied pressure to you they could “hurt you” I was telling her that we stopped 10 hours prior to these appointments almost a FULL DAY. she said “it doesn’t matter and that she was still charging us for the massages that were NEVER performed. Pam (the office manager) then asked me for my occupation and although that is entirely NONE of her business I explained I worked in the health field and she said “exactly due to you working in healthcare there is protocols you need to follow correct” i said yes absolutely but it did not make sense to me how it was almost a full day prior to us drinking and how those services could not be performed. she started to become rude and nasty and touching me although I was already aggravated so as soon as we walked out we were charged $140 something dollars for services we NEVER received!!! the next day I called to request the documents I signed when we walked in and she “explained” too me that those are apparently confidential when those documents have MY signature therefore I own legal rights to those documents! then I requested there “protocol” form stating you cannot drink alcohol the day PRIOR to a massage when there are SEVERAL other places you can receive massages from that literally give YOU champagne during the service. she said she will also not send me the page stating you cannot drink the day prior because she does not have that document and told me to “google it” on some other massage site. She then said “when you go to a doctors office and ask for your records do they give them too you” YES?!? absolutely those are YOUR documents. Do NOT come here seriously! I am not the type of person to write reviews in fact this is the first review I have ever wrote. Pam is the office manager has absolutely zero idea of what she is talking about and Tracy I believe is the GM/Owner of this franchise and they were both super rude and all Tracy said was that she was sorry and she will not be refunding me as she has to “pay” her therapists for their time although they literally didn’t even perform any services?!? I also asked tracy if she was not refunding me the money back if she could schedule me those appointments so I can receive the service I paid for she told me she will not do that for me either. I am so extremely disappointed and they ruined hand and stone for me and I will not return to ANY of their locations.

I was gifted a facial for Mother's Day and was delighted to check out Hand and Stone for the first time. When I arrived there had been a mix up with the scheduling and I was an hour and a half early. No problem. I returned at the appropriate time and had a wonderful experience. I chatted up the front desk ladies who were lovely and told them about my Mother's Day gift. I was asked if I wanted an add on and I stated I was concerned that my kids would be charged because it was a gift. I was assured they could separate out the billing. I made an appointment for the very next day for a massage at my own expense, obviously. At check out I again made it clear that I was concerned the kids would be charged. I gave the person in charge of billing my Discover card. She seemed to take a very long time on her computer with the billing. I assumed she was new and treated her with patience and kindness. Fast forward somehow, my kids were billed for much more than they originally gifted me and my poor daughter in law has been treated very poorly by these people while trying to discreetly correct the mistake. Not only have they not made an attempt to reach out to me, they didn't respond to a message I left. I just left 3 more and hope to speak to someone who can finally sort this out. It feels like gas lighting at this point with the billing person saying she needs my permission to bill my card and acting like my daughter in law has done something wrong! I'm trying to handle this while out of town on business and its an unnecessary hassle for all of us. Any anxiety they worked out of my body has been replaced by disappointment, and frustration at the inept and inappropriate billing. Be warned.

If i could give a 0 star review I would. This place is embarrassing and unprofessional. We came for a bachelorette party and they wouldnt service us because we drank the night before. We were NEVER told we shouldnt drink before this appointment. My appointment had been canceled and rescheduled 3 times i have not been compensated and then we come in and they want to charge us after coming in and not service us because we drank till midnight? This place is ridiculous. ANY Other spa is better. Do NOT come here. Especially for a bachelorette party. Ruined the whole weekend.

Worst massage I ever had in my life! My technician placed a very hot towel on my back never tested it first. Her technique was terrible and disconnected,her body makes a clicking noise , so irritating and she turned the heat on in the bed , it was hot as heck in the room. She dug her finger in my upper back, have no clue what that was for. She started late and ended early, which was fine because she was terrible, had to come home and schedule another massage because she was awful, A manager called and all she could say was sorry. Don’t go here if you have other options!

My mother and I have had many issues with this location. My mother does not speak English and the old manager signed her up without her understanding. The new Manager bianca, who was extremely helpful. She cancelled my mother’s membership with ease and understanding. She also speaks Spanish. She is aware of the issues with the previous manager and apologizes for them. My main concern here is the new receptionist with red hair. it seems like they are not sure of what they are doing they are very loud and inpatient. Told me she would put my mom on cancel list and did not until I called Bianca again. I will be having my mother and I come back still hopefully Bianca will train her more.

Experience depends on which esthetician you get. First two times were excellent. 3rd time my esthetician was home recovering from Delta virus.. They gave me a new person who did not know what she was doing with the NuFace treatment. It left the right side of my face from cheekbone to temple very sensitive with numbness. She did not fully prepare my skin with gel and hit an exposed area that was without the gel. I hope this goes away. Very uncomfortable. I'm having to see my doctor about it. I won't go back.

Not a fan of the new manager of this location. Every time I make appointments right after my current appointment a month out in advanced, It never fails I get called asking to change my appointment or it’s been cancelled. What’s the point of making the original appointment. Then to top it off, the way all the employees are treated in front of customers is definitely not professional at all. I was very concerned at how the “manager” of the spa speaks down to her team, how did she even become the manager. She does nothing but criticize everything anyone does and it’s done right in front of the customer. It’s supposed to be a spa, relaxing time and an opportunity to unwind for me after working all day. Unfortunately, due to the manager and her negative energy, the environment is quite hostile. It’s been that way the last 2 times I’ve visited and it’s been that way since she started. At this time I’m cancelling my membership.

The front desk was not very welcoming, confused me about my paperwork. Failed to tell me that my request for more time the day before would put a 45 minute gap in between my massage and facial. Had to cancel dinner reservations with my husband. The time change also put me in 45 minutes of traffic, and my anxiety was just as bad by the time I got home. I have a 20 minute drive normally. I spend hundreds of dollars here monthly, and the manager and spa associates did not say sorry, did not even look remorseful. Barely even paid me any attention. Not even like a $10 off or free sample or even a look of regret. It’s really disappointing and the only reason I’m here is because of the lovely massage therapists and estheticians there.

I recently had a facial by Asia , one of the newest esthetician’s at Hand and Stone in Brentwood and she was amazing ! She knew exactly what my skin needed and cleared my whole face up ! I had some credits on my account that a previous manager transferred and agreed upon months ago. The current manager (evening of 2/1/21) was beyond rude on the phone and didn’t want to honor what was already discussed. Internal issues are none of my business as a spa guest. I think of a spa as a relaxing and calm place, the last thing I need when booking a massage, is to encounter a poor managed business.

After my massage they refused to take my gift certificate. I didn't have the money for the massage.So I had to call the person who bout it for me, and ask for the money. Instead of being relaxed I left completely embarrassed and exceptionally uncomfortable. I was supposed to receive a call from management. Never happened. I don't think I will return

I will not go to ANY OTHER SPA! Hand and Stone is amazing. They make sure you get the best service in the most welcoming and relaxing environment. Every time I go I have James as my Massage Therapist and he is truly wonderful. He listens is very professional and I always leave feeling good. Every facial I have ever gotten has been wonderful. Anna did my last one and knowledge on everything has me going back to her next time. What I love about hand and stone is that they are not super pushy about up selling add-on’s they give me the information and how it will benefit me. They don’t get pushy or make you feel guilty. I always end up adding something and it’s always worth it. Truly worth every single dime.

I signed up for the membership at Franklin and the massage was great. I went to the location in Brentwood this weekend and it was amazing! I had Rebecca and she gave me a lot of information about the stones and salts that I didn’t even know about! I ended up upgrading my regular 50 min massage and getting the Aromatherapy Peppermint and the Hot Stones! I would much rather come to Brentwood location and see Rebecca than go back to Franklin’s location to be honest. The staff was extremely nice and made me feel really comfortable! And it was so beautiful inside the lobby as well! The best experience I’ve ever had with any massage place!

I had a great massage but was very unhappy with the front desk staff. I had just signed up, swiped my credit card and left only to get a quick call that I left my keys. When I returned to get my keys a young lady at the front desk informed me that my credit card didn’t swipe right and I needed to swipe it again. When I reached for my keys and thanked her for them she held them up high and wouldn’t release them until I swiped my credit card. All three front staff members had their attention on me. I jokingly told him I was from New York and then if I wanted to get my keys I would take her down if I had to. I felt that was a very inappropriate way to treat anyone especially a 55-year-old woman. I swipe my card, took the keys and left. The next day I canceled the membership. I will never set foot in your establishment again.

Disappointed after getting a facial today. The aesthetician seemed to not care much and hardly did any sort of facial massage. She seemed distracted and kept trying to force the membership on me, by telling me my skin was horrible and that I “needed” it to fix my skin problems. Paid $15 extra for a scalp massage that lasted 2-3 minutes at most. Will not be returning to this location.

My husband and I got a couples massage with Marleah & Lakreshia on our anniversary trip to Nashville. Not only was the lobby space beautiful, but both ladies were very sweet & left us both feeling super refreshed! Afterwards, they also spoke to us a little more about their assessments (e.g. you're really tense in this area, etc) and what we can do to relieve any lingering pain going forward, which was very helpful. Thanks to both these ladies & Michelle the Receptionist. It was a pleasure talking with you and we'd love to visit you all again next time we're in town!

I bought a Father's Day package for my husband. We drove across town and planned to spend the day working around the appointments I scheduled for him as part of this package. My husband and I were in Sur La Table when then phone call cancelling our appointment came 15 min before his scheduled time. When I ran over to the spa, I was told there were no other therapists and the best they could offer was to reschedule on another day. I was told the therapist has a bad wrist and could not perform her duties and that this was a reoccurring issue. When I asked for the manager, I requested reimbursement for the package so that we could go elsewhere. She said and continued to point to the gift card fine print that refunds are not allowed. She then offered to call the therapist and have her come in despite her injury to perform the service for which sounded ludicrous and of course we didn't want. Even she said "good point" when I said why would a 6ft 6in 250lb man want a massage from a therapist with an injured wrist? All we wanted was our money back but were repeatedly told the spa didn't offer reimbursements and the best they could do was reschedule. So, as we stood there left to hang out to dry, I asked to escalate to the owners but was told they were out of town. For this, I did insist to speak with the owner. I spoke with Jack who after hearing my story, despite standing behind his premise that they don't do reimbursements did say he would have his wife would call me on Monday to handle it. I thought we were done with the unpleasant customer service, until Sandy called and proceeded to accuse me of being belligerent to her staff while in the same breath asking for my CC info to process the reimbursement. Such and accusation was completely unnecessary when all I requested from the onset was a simple reimbursement for unrendered services. This no different that their 24 hours cancellation policy but on the flip side. So I have cancelled my membership after being a member there for approx 3 years wanting nothing to do with a retailer who cares so little for a customer experience. Buyers beware and take note of similar feedback below.

The front desk staff and facilities were excellent, the massage however, was excruciating. Rebecca was nice enough but talked the WHOLE TIME, asking me questions non-stop. And when she spoke she STOPPED massaging! To be honest, I believe she was under the influence because she slurred her words and her eyes could barely stay open. Since my friend payed for my massage as a birthday present, I didn't complain in front of her. However, i did tell her not to go to Rebecca....EVER. ---Disappointed

I had a deep tissue massage with Lakreishia. She was fantastic. Worked out all my knots and had great pressure. She frequently checked in on pressure which was welcome. The staff is welcoming and spa is beautiful too. Would definitely back.

Massages are always perfect. The Therapists and front desk staff are sccomidating and professional.......until it comes time to check out. There is always something that stumps them when getting through the payment and scheduling the next massage. It usually takes 7-10 mins to check out and schedule next months appt....(we have a monthly membership and have a couples massage) Today....21 MINUTES and we got so sick of waiting, just threw down some 20's and walked out. The girl checking us out was new. However 3 other employees were all looking around a computer screen next to us, they acted as if the shuttle was about to launch. No attempt to help the new girl and they saw how frustrated we were. Sad leaving a massage appt as worked up as before hand. Not sure yet if we'll continue our membership and return.

I recently had my first visit to Hand and Stone. It was very easy to set up the appointments for a first time massage and facial. I highly recommend you treat yourself on your first visit to both. This location is very easy to get to and there is plenty of parking in the parking garage with a short walk to the location. It is very clean and welcoming when you come in. Soft music is playing throughout. It creates a very relaxing beginning. I had a massage by James and a facial by Erika. I left feeling very rejuvenated.

Don’t leave your jewelry here by accident (which is easy to do since they just give you a chair). Left mind a week ago. Took me calling them FOUR times for them to tell me “like, yea, we looked around on the floor and stuff...and didn’t see it.” The manager never reached out even after I asked for a call back. I was the last appointment of the day. Only one in there. And I called right at 9am when they opened the following day. You would think that I’m not the first person to leave jewelry and that there might be a standard process. Nope. When I filed the police report, the officer told me that this isn’t his first one, and they take no responsibility. Unfortunately for me, possession is 9/10ths of the law, and I cannot prove they have it. Guess I will try Mallory Lane and cancel if I have issues there too. I would assume it’s the same owner.

Came in for a couples massage... was very pleasant experience on my part the LMT that worked on my friend. Did a lot of excessive shaking during the session. Shaking his body, he was too polite to tell the LMT that it was distracting and uncomfortable. I have no complaints regarding my LMT although we felt that they could have been a little more friendly. They were polite but a little standoffish.

So I made a cancellation today of my membership. Now they told me that they have a 30 days notice before they stop the auto draft on my account which was never mentioned or clarified the time I sign up for membership and I even clearly ask if I change my mind and not to continue my membership how long I have to notify them, they said anytime since there is no contract at all. Today the lady basically told me that it’s on the paper that I sign repeatedly. It’s disppointing. We all have to be careful when signing up for membership here and don’t rely on what they say read the TERMS and CONDITIONS? Good luck!

I did not have a good experience with Hand & Stone when I lived in Texas so was a bit wary when I moved here. However, from the moment I walked in for my first appointment, I was treated kindly and with respect. The front desk staff is phenomenal as is their management staff. Nicole, who does my facials, is sweet as can be and always checks with me to see if my skin has had changes, etc. AND my facial is always customized, which I love. I have had a few massages here too and very professional and exactly as advertised. This is my new home away from home and I think you should consider coming here as well. Don't you need a relaxed day???

Massage with Peyton was wonderful; I came in with lower back pain and she focused on working out my lower back for the appropriate amount of time to ensure other areas of my body were worked out as well. I have been to two locations of Hand and Stone, including this one. Both of them have been professional and relaxing. Their customer service is wonderful and the services are even better! Like any spa, the experience changes with the massage therapist, but that's to be expected. Everyone needs something a little different from a massage therapist. I highly recommend the membership to anyone who needs regular massages.
