I can see way this company is going out of business. The signs in the store say 40% offi ticketed price. But when you get to the register it isn't marked down. I have come here multiple times and walked out with nothing. The men's clothing are all something you could get at the Americana down the road for the same price. Or Macy's for cheaper. Forget plus sizes--men and women's. In fact, the women's plus size "pocket" is so pitiful, it's like they're trying to hide it. Maybe they are? The store clerks are either non-existent or glued to their post, so there isn't much energy. There are multiple levels to this store, things more feminine-aligned (I.e. Purses, perfume, make-up, and sunglasses), but can once again be all bought at the Americana or Macy's for the same, if not lower price. Also, I am a man who works for a company very much so involved in the fashion industry, so when I was told by a female store employee that I was looking at the "women's glasses" while wearing my cat-eye sunglasses, I answered "I know" because I was a tad baffled that a man wearing cat-eye sunglasses wasn't a hint that I am more feminine inclined. I know there are a lot of older women who shop here, but when working at a store like this, I would think one should try to be more aware of trends, especially here in New York? But I digress... Won't be coming here again simply because the selection is actually really boring. Rather get it from the store at the Americana for the same price, that may also have more product from that brand or at Macy's where it's a little cheaper and could be on sale.

There is not enough workers there to assist you and whenever I go in I get harassed to open up a Lord&Taylor credit card when I already have one, but choose not to use it. I will no longer come here unless new staff is hired. The selection is decent, but get ready to sort through the messiness. I wish the service would be better.

Ladies and gentlemen if you are searching for the trendiest in high fashion, then you will find it here!! Absolute worst experience of my life in the shoe department. The sales lady refused to help myself and another woman just kept saying “the other lady will help you” there was no other lady. Then she took a pair of shoes from another customer and then ignored the girls request to have them back on 3 separate occasions until her mother came up to the counter. Finally a man came out I gave him my shoes (needed 6 pairs) only 2 pairs came out all the wrong sizes in the wrong marked boxes. Just walked out, not worth the aggravation. Everyone’s attitudes was terrible and the 15 customers waiting on line to get sizes were all being ignored. Shape up Lord and Taylor, you did a multi million dollar renovation at the Manhasset location but still have terrible sales people.

Stopped in to the Manhasset Lord & Taylor. I found a lack of stock on an item I normally purchase there. There was no salesperson in the vicinity to ask for help and possible availability of stock in the item I wanted to purchase. I then had to find a register that had a salesperson to ring up my purchases NOT a way to run a store that I have been shopping at for many, many years. Will think twice before returning!!! I was so disappointed and forgot that one of the reasons I stopped in was to possibly purchase a new bathing suit. Walked out so annoyed that I never got to the swimwear department...don't even know it's new location. Someone should be greeting customers at the new front entrance with a personal map showing where all the departments now are located! HOPE CORPORATE READS THIS REVIEW AND MAKES SOME CHANGES!

Okay, so I love the store in midtown Manhattan and online, but this one, not so much. The customer service is terrible. I called at least 5 times to just see if a particular pair of pants were at the store. First 2 times somebody in the department picked up and hung up on me without even saying hello. 3rd time, the operator cut me off as I told her nobody was answering in that department and patched me through saying "have a great day..." with an attitude. I wasn't even being rude when I was explaining the issue. What the?! Then a woman actually picked up and placed me on hold while I heard her speak to a manager about a declined card for 5 min without coming back to me. Get better customer service training asap.

Not a good experience but in their defense the store was under construction and no one knew where anything was. The one thing I didn't care for was how the sales personnel were pushing to buy products such as purses and perfume. They were quite relentless and it turned me off. So, why do you have a tag sale on the items they are not on sale? Can you honor what you offer??? NO, they are not on sale...Hello, I feel like the store lies the customers....I spent over 40 minutes trying on the suits, shirt, tie...and I got hit with the surprise, THEY ARE NOT ON SALE !! than WHY DO YOU ADVERTISE THEM ON THE RACK THEY ARE ON SALE??? The Manager ( Lorainne ) so careless of customer service, I wonder who hired her ? I rated 1 star just to make the comment...actually, I`ll rate " -100 stars" , in this economy, you try keep your customers, right?

Customer service has gone down drastically. This store was a mess and not visually stimulating at all. I used to be a fan of L&T and I don't know if it's this company or this store specifically but I will not be shopping here ever again.

I love shopping at Lord & Taylor. The staff is extremely helpful. The quality of clothes is excellent. Definitely go during the sales. You can purchase upscale clothes very inexpensively.

For me, the shoe department at any major department store calls to mind Dante's Inferno. So it's strange for me to be penning this review for Lord & Taylor. Strange, but possible. Coaxed into checking out footwear by my shopping companion, I noticed the sales people really busting their butts while remaining friendly & helpful. One thoughtful clerk offered to get water for a pregnant & parched shopper. The selections & pricing made it possible for me to walk out with multiple pairs of reasonably priced merchandise. I'm always happy to spread the gospel of Savings & my new boots are definitely made for walking.
